ROLLINS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY WORKS WITH S. M. WILSON & CO. TO TRANSFORM STUDENT COMMONS AREA INTO ACADEMIC SUPPORT CENTER AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY

Rollins Construction Company is acting as a subcontractor to parent company S. M. Wilson & Co. to transform a 28,000 square foot student commons area inside Shreve Residence Hall into an academic support center on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.  The $2.1 million renovation project will turn an under-utilized area of the building’s first floor into a collaborative learning environment to support a variety of teaching styles.  Rollins Construction Company will perform the project’s demolition, carpentry and concrete work.

The new academic support center will feature meeting and conference rooms, a computer classroom, administrative office, information center and a large student learning lounge that can be configured to supplement a variety of learning needs.  The project is scheduled to be completed in February 2015.  S. M. Wilson will provide general contracting services.  MPA Architects is the project’s architect.
