Company Operations Facility

As a super subcontractor to Megen Construction, S. M. Wilson provided pre-construction, project management and quality control services for the construction of a Company Operations Facility (COF) at Ft. Lewiis, Washington. The COF serves as both an administrative center and a supply support facility and is the primary staging, training, and deployment center for soldiers and their individualized gear. The building provides three companies with a detached Administration Module (16,120 GSF of office space), a Readiness Module (36,720 GSF of warehouse space including an arms storage vault, wire-mesh supply areas, and individual equipment lockers), an exterior covered hardstand (8,955 GSF of an exterior covered load out area) and lawn mower storage building (600 GSF).

Construction services for the supporting facilities included: utilities, electrical service, exterior and security lighting, fire protection and fire alarm systems, storm and sanitary sewers, information systems, paving, sidewalks, curb and gutter site improvements. Antiterrorism/ Force Protection measures were also included.
